Instead of stuffing your link on a long page full of links (or worse, buried under a 2nd or 3rd page), we give each shop their own unique page on the site.

Mom’s Market has been online since 2002 and has a PR3. While it’s been through many changes over the years, it’s only had one owner and linked on many other websites. We’re also the owner of Prairie Soy Candles, Soap by Jillian, and Idea Queen.

- We Support Handmade
As the owner of a shop featuring handmade items, we know how difficult it is to promote handmade items over store bought. More often than not, handmade items cost more than items found in stores. However, we know the quality and customer service of handmade products is much better than the chain stores.

Rules & Requirement:

1. Products Must Be Handmade
The focus of this site is to promote handmade products made by individuals, not factories. Purchased items at wholesale from another IS acceptable, just as long as the items are in fact handmade. Sites with a mixture of handmade and manufactured items will not be accepted.

We may offer a category for direct sales reps and those who sell wholesale, but for now we are only accepting shops featuring handmade items.

2. Must Sell Online
We aren’t picky about HOW you sell online, just as long as customers are able to place an item in some form of a shopping cart and check out. No “contact for information” sites, customers must be able to order from you in some way. At the very minimum, we suggest a site such as Etsy to sell from.

3. No Free Hosted Sites
3rd party sites, such as Etsy and Artfire, are acceptable forms of shops. Free hosted websites are not. You must either have a professional shop on a 3rd party site, or a hosted domain name.

4. Pictures Required
We need to be able to show our visitors pictures of your store. At least one picture of a product or products is required. Banners or other promotional materials are optional.

5. Detailed Descriptions, Please
This is not your average directory, where we stuff your link on a page with a hundred others. Each store gets their own entire page. For this reason, we ask that you take a little time crafting a very detailed description of your business. Your description should include a few of your products, the history of your business, what makes it special, and any other information you think your customers should know.

6. Link Back Optional
While it’s not a requirement, we do appreciate a link back. We have several to chose from to show you are a proud supporter of handmade businesses. See our “Link to us” page for easy linking options.

Fees:

Directory listings are currently $5/year for one category, and $8/year for two categories (you choose which category you’d like to be featured in). Please note this price may change in the near future, depending on space and demand.
